Flooding Island LLC

Flooding Island is a book and music publisher. We are always looking for a good story told well, and for music that captivates. Established to publish high-quality, engaging literature and music, Flooding Island is currently accepting submissions for its forthcoming catalogs and welcomes agented as well as un-agented submissions from writers with previous traditional publication credits or significant social media presence, or pitches from musicians who fit our limited yet eclectic interests.

Surprise us with somthing undeniable that you know will light a fire with readers or listeners.

Pitch Guidelines for Music Compositions

Flooding Island is a self-sufficient and highly selective traditional label. We never require artists to “sign” with us, rather we approach projects on a track-by-track or album-by-album basis. If a track or an album is accepted under our label, we will negotiate an advance payment for all artists on the track, as well as fair splits. Flooding Island will also pay all marketing expenses. Flooding Island has never, and will never, charge artists fees whatsoever. This means we are looking to generate revenue from listeners and not from the artists. As such, we are selectively looking for new and unique music compositions by artists who have a solid social media presence, a loyal following of listeners, or such a powerfully and undeniably great track of music that it will be worth our financial risk to become involved in helping to market it. We are only interested in the following a genres of music: Ambient, World, Experimental.
  • Start by pitching us with a description of yourself and your music.
  • Your pitch should contain an introduction, a summary of your project, relevant social media links.
  • Keep your pitch to less than 350 words of text (about one printed page).
  • Absolutely NO attachments of any sort. Your pitch must be plain text in an email.
  • If we are interested in your writen pitch, then we may ask for you to send us music samples. But again, do NOT send any attachments in your first contact!
  • Pitch us submissions [at] floodingIsland [dot] com
  • Format the subject line of your pirch as such: Your Name / Music Pitch / Genre
  • We will acknowledge receipt of all received pitches at least once every two weeks, but after that, we will not respond unless we are interested in reading and hearing more. If you have not heard back from us within six weeks after the acknowledgment, assume that your pitch is not suited for us.
